What to Wear: Dress for the weather, but please wear your Dundee Dems t-shirt if you have one. If you are not wearing a Candidate’s tee shirt, please wear a red, white or blue plain shirt in honor of the day.
Please bring candidate signs. The parade’s theme is red, white, and blue, so bring your flags and other patriotic gear.
Candy: please bring bags of wrapped hard candy. We’ll have patriotically colored beads and bubble guns.
Join the Elgin Township Democrats in this year’s Fourth of July Parade.
The parade kicks off at 9am, but try to arrive around 8am so we can coordinate any tasks placement, handing out of candy, etc.
We do not yet know our placement in the parade, so check with the entry point volunteers to get a general idea of where we will be. We will have Jack the Donkey, so we should be easy to find in the line-up.
We are looking for volunteers to help with building this year’s float. If interested contact Carl Strathmann at 630.890.3460.
The Strathmann’s are planning a party after the parade at their place.
