Annual Food Drive | Elgin Township Democrats

This year all of the proceeds will be going to: ELGIN COOPERATIVE MINISTRIES – They run the Soup Kitchens

Inflation hits the poor the hardest and makes their life very difficult. This means that they rely on the Food Banks even more. The BEST WAY to donate is to make a check out to ECM (Elgin Cooperative Ministries) – OR – FFGA (Food for Greater Elgin) – OR – pick up a few extra items while you are at the store. Either way – early donations can be dropped off at the Tepe’s – 2814 Beacon Point Cir.

1st – MONEY – MAKE CHECKS OUT TO “ECM”
2nd – Pop top/easy open foods are best for homeless individuals
CANNED MEAT MEALS: BEEF STEW, CHILI, RAVIOLI, SPAM, CHICKEN
SPAGHETTI NOODLES 1# BAGS
TUNA – CAN OR POUCH; WHITE RICE 1# BAG/BOX
Canned fruit; Cereal/oatmeal (small packets)
Peanut butter; Jelly; Macaroni & cheese – boxed
Pinto beans, dry 1# bags
Saltine crackers; Soup/Ramen noodles
Spaghetti/marinara sauce; Spaghettio-types
AND DIAPERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!

The Hampshire Dems will be marching in the town’s Coon Creek Country Days Parade on August 11th at noon.

Assembly for the parade begins at 11:00 in downtown Hampshire.

On Sunday October 20 @ 9:00am there will be an Adopt a Highway event for the Kane Co Dems. We will meet at the home of Steve Bruesewtiz,1707 Patricia Lane in St Charles.

This should take between 2-3 hours. Our efforts allow us to keep a sign up recognizing our efforts, and more importantly keep Kane Co beautiful.

Coffee and donuts will be served.

  • See your ballot before voting
  • Check your voter registration
  • Learn about the voting process, ask questions, and get answers!

Why It Matters:

Young people’s voices are crucial in shaping policies that impact our daily lives, future opportunities, and the world we’re building together. Voting gives you a say in important issues like:
